The Shadow:
It usually represents the dark side of one's psyche, the one that we have difficulties acknowledging. It is a sinister aspect of ourselves and in dreams it comes as characters that we do not like or accept.
Like all Archetypes and all characters in our dreams they always come with a purpose, we should spend some time to identify them and analyze the reasons why they have come to us in a specific moment of our lives.
This archetype is often described as the darker side of the psyche, representing wildness, chaos, and the unknown. These latent dispositions are present in all of us, Jung believed, although people sometimes deny this element of their own psyche and instead project it on to others. cit.Web
For the representation of The Shadow my doll is a mysterious character dressed in black damask, barefoot and blind.
Her body posture represents the one of someone who can't see, or don't want to see in this case. Her hands and arms are stretched forward in an attempt to feel with her hands her surroundings.
Feet and hands are black, to represent how much we are all in this darkness.
She wears a grey hat that resembles Raku ceramic, this is paper clay in fact, it is a new technique that I have experimented and implemented in my dolls.
The lace collar is made with antique lace.
The doll is 17,7 inches long (45cm), including the wooden base that is 1,37 inches (3,5cm)
This is a standing doll. It is made with paper clay over a solid wire armature. Head is ball jointed and allows to pose the doll in the preferred position.
Arms are posable, as always, never move your doll by putting pressure on the hands ( they have an armature but they are still fragile), just feel with your fingers where the lower arm made of paper clay ends and bend the arms at elbow height.
I created a very scenographic collar for this doll, and really adds to the complete feeling. The collar is removable.
I do not use molds, each and every doll is unique and hand sculpted. This is a One of a Kind doll.
This doll is made with paper clay over a solid wire armature.
This is an art doll and it is not suitable for children, like any piece of art, please make sure she is displayed away from direct sunlight and humidity. Please handle with care.
This doll will ship with courier (DHL, UPS or others) to her final destination.
The doll is delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity.
